Things I don’t like

I liked the question some one asked about faith and discipleship. You never really answered the part about discipleship. Do you think you are an example of what Jesus considers a disciple? It's mentioned a lot in the New Testament but most people don't consider it important to salvation. Check out Matthew 28:16-20

In Matthew 28:16-20, Jesus speaks to the eleven disciples and tells them to make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit, by teaching them to observe all things Jesus has commanded and reassuring them that He will be with them always, even to the end of age.

Now have I gone out and won souls? Sadly no. But I feel like the season I’m at in my life is a season of growth and finding stability. I’ve been up here at school for two years now, out of those two years, I’ve probably been back home for something like 3 months in total. It’s different when your out there on your own. You have so many opinions and thoughts thrown at you, everything tugging on you for attention. Frankly, I’m out here trying to keep my faith up and strong. I’m no perfect man, I try to do the best that I can with what it is I have. I’ll keep it straight up with you. There’s so many things that bother me, thoughts wise. Things like knowing pieces of the bible have been edited and manipulated. Or things like science, evolution, big bang theory. I’m not claiming I’m the smartest in the world or anything like that but I know I can connect the dots. As far as those two scientific theories just brought up, yes I believe in both. And yes I believe God is the supreme almighty Creator. But I think, in my mind, that my faith and man’s scientific theories go hand and hand. You just don’t go from A to Z and skip everything in between or step 1 to 10. It’s a process. Then, people bring up the 7 day thing. But in 2 Peter 3:8 it says But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. So whose to say how long those days were to God? Things like that are the things I think about constantly. I’m so thirsty for the truth. That’s all I want. And my faith is all I have to quench that thirst. I’m just trying to live righteously, but that doesn’t mean I don’t make mistakes or I’m perfect. I’m the furthest thing, flawed tremendously. But I don’t let that stop me from chipping away at what I want to become. Each day is a new challenge, a new battle. Sometimes I reign victorious, other times I’m defeated, that being said though, once defeated I never stay down. And I think that’s where I’m at right now, He knows the intentions of my heart so, yeah.

I like them a lot. I think they’re pretty cool but I think there’s like an unwritten rule about them though. It’s kind of one of those things where like I think that those tribal tattoos should be a part of your roots, your heritage you know? Like I can’t get them because I have no ties to any thing like that. I know my roots go back to the Bahamas but I don’t know anything beyond that. But I have a bunch of Polynesian homies that have full tribal sleeves and they all tell me the different things they mean so it makes since to me for them to have them because it’s a part of their culture.

That’s a hard question. I don’t believe I can point at one person but I admire people who do what they love, give selflessly, sacrifice, you know? I look up to a ton of people.

Ever since I was little I was a trait adopter. I used to toy with these thoughts about the people I interacted with and the things I liked about them. The things I liked, I adopted. Whether it be how someone interacts with their peers or how someone keeps a cool head in conflict. Pretty soon all these things slowly came together and molded into what I am today. That’s why I love meeting new people. Everyone has something new to bring to the table in everything. Never shut anyone out because you’ll just be shutting yourself out. I continually do this even now. I like working internally. Working on myself to become a better human being. Spirit, mind, and body.
